Palolem sea beach is located in the southern part of Goa, about 36 kms from Margao. It is one of the best beaches of Goa and is strategically located in a very good spot as one can visit Patnem, colomb, polem and agonda beaches from it. Also, if you want to see dolphins and visit butterfly and honeymoon beach, you can take a tourist boat from Palolem and explore the area. The entire beach is oval shaped and about 1.6 miles in length. There are many beach shacks, hotels, pubs, cafes, restaurants in the beach. The entire beach is lined with coconut trees, which gives a very scenic look to it. If you go towards the hillocks to the left side, you can get a panaromic view of the entire area.
There is a small shallow river to the right side of the beach, which has to be crossed by foot, there is no other way. Upon crossing one can find, there are innumerable number of large and small rocks in the area, along with a bar called Sundowner Bar. It is a popular sunset spot and lot of tourists visit there during sunset. But, be careful as it gets dark very quickly as there are no artificial lights in that area. I slipped at one of the rocks and dropped by smartphone in the water. Also, during high tide water level in the small river increases, hence caution is necessary.
