Patwon ki Haveli is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. A huge of tourists come to see the intricate interior architecture draped in gold. There were five brothers who built five havelis in total, out of which the first haveli is the largest and worth visiting. The first haveli were built in 1805 by Guman Chand Patwa, a rich merchant and depicts the lavish lifestyle the residents of the havelis enjoyed. The interior rooms are decorated with gold, fine wall paintings, beautiful balconies, archways and gateways. It is located quite near to the Jaisalmer fort, around 800m and can be easily reached by foot. For those interested in architecture photography, these havelis provide great opportunity.
